Speaking of the day, just before Christmas, Gwen’s family said, “It was a very special opportunity to meet all five generations, especially during the pandemic.

“Strict protocols still apply, but the caretaker, Chris, has authorized the visit, for which we are all extremely grateful.”

The inhabitant of the home for the elderly, who will be 101 years old next month, already has five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six step-grandchildren and was extremely proud to have met the latest addition to the family.

Unfortunately, Gwen’s cataract means that she can’t see very well anymore, but according to her family, she was still extremely happy to meet the little one.

Gwen was born in Essex on February 28, 1921, and after moving to Gravesend in her youth, became a passionate dancer and performed at many local events while working in her father’s seed shops in Kent.
